Who else can say there were fireworks when they tied the knot? Dan and Nicole can! I'm DJ Sam House, and on July 4, 2009 I helped them celebrate at Fantasea Yacht Club in Marina del Rey. Happy Independence Day, and congratulations again!
A very patriotic guest
We had a special visitor drop in for a bit: Uncle Sam, the birthday boy himself, showed up to join the festivities. It was a fun, unexpected touch for an Independence Day wedding, and it made everyone smile.
Fireworks and a rocking dance floor
Later in the evening, we all went outside to watch the fireworks display. Then something I love: after the show, everybody came back inside to rock the dance floor until the very end. It was an awesome party. A holiday wedding has a built-in sense of occasion, and the crowd brings extra energy.
Planning tip: holiday weekend weddings
If you're thinking about a wedding on or near a holiday such as the Fourth of July, keep these in mind:
- Book early. Venues, vendors and guests' schedules fill up quickly on holiday dates.
- Plan around the main event. If a fireworks show is part of the evening, talk with your DJ about pausing the music and bringing everyone back to the dance floor afterward.
- Allow travel time. Roads and marinas get busy, so give guests, vendors and the wedding party a little extra time.
Planning around a celebration that everyone is already excited about can make for a truly memorable night.
Congratulations again, Dan and Nicole!
