If you're looking for great pizza in Los Angeles, look no further than next door. Pizza Next Door, in Downtown Los Angeles, brings the taste of New York to the west coast, and as a self-described pizza lover, I can say I've never had a better slice. On September 25, 2008 I had a blast DJing their three-year anniversary celebration. I'm DJ Sam House, and this one was pure fun.
Three years of success
We celebrated Pizza Next Door's three years in business with a very special guest: a "fake" Austin Powers keeping the crowd entertained. People lined up out the door, all waiting to get a piece of the action, and the afternoon was filled with delicious pizza, music and a little shagadelic fun.
Setting the scene outdoors
Business anniversaries and grand openings are all about energy. Balloons, a lively storefront and music spilling out onto the sidewalk make a small business feel like the center of the neighborhood.
Planning tip: celebrating a business milestone
Whether you run a restaurant, shop or office, an anniversary event is a great way to thank your customers. A few ideas:
- Add a theme. A costumed character, a decade-themed playlist or a fun giveaway gives guests a reason to stay.
- Match the music to the moment. Upbeat, familiar songs work well for daytime street events.
- Check the rules. Outdoor events may need permits or have sound limits, so plan ahead with your venue or city.
Congratulations again, Pizza Next Door, on three years of success.
