I love my job. I get to meet the coolest people, celebrate with them and rock the party, and Danny and Sandra's wedding at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu on June 5, 2009 was a perfect example. I'm DJ Sam House, and I'm still smiling about this one.
A pleasure to get to know
Danny and Sandra were a super friendly couple, and it was a pleasure to get to know them. That kind of connection matters. When I know a couple's personalities, I can read the room more like a friend than a vendor, and build the evening around the people who are actually there.
Dancing and getting a little crazy
Everyone had a great time dancing, and the party got energetic fast. By the end of the night we had the dance floor roaring and Danny and Sandra were lifted up in the air by their guests. It was an awesome way to cap off the celebration, and you can see the excitement in the photos.

Calamigos Ranch is a favorite for Malibu weddings, with indoor and outdoor spaces nestled in the hills. If you're considering a ranch-style venue, a few questions to ask your planning team:
- Which spaces will host your ceremony, cocktail hour and reception, and how will the music move between them?
- When must the music end, and how does that affect your timeline?
- How early can your DJ set up and test the sound?
Answering those early helps the whole evening run smoothly, so you can enjoy every moment.
